The environment where this kind of truffle grows is the wood, in particular it grows close to the Cerro, Roverela and Beech trees. In fact, the hooked truffle doesn’t stand the drought and it needs very humid soil, we can find it in shaded and cool areas, unachievable by the sunlight.
In the culinary tradition of Norcia we combine it with different food, it has a particular flavor which brings out whatever dish, exactly as the black truffle.
